Putting the spice back into Christmas

Thursday, November 27, 2008, 07:30

THE number one Christmas Show will be stopping off at The Majestic Theatre in Retford as part of a 13-date tour.

The show, on Friday December 5, features many Christmas classics along with number one hits and will include a tribute to the Spice Girls.

The Spice Girls had three UK Christmas number ones- 'Two become one', 'Too much' and 'Goodbye'.

Spice Girl, Mel B recently gave many of her personal possessions including her designer stage costumes to Clic Sargent to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

The charity provides care and support for children and young people with cancer.

Mel B, a mum to two children, donated the items to help the charity as she is leaving the UK to set up home in Los Angeles.

No 1 Productions, the producers of the No1 Christmas Show were delighted to successfully bid on EBAY for Mel's very own Dolce and Gabbana leopard skin stage coat.

The coat (pictured bottom being worn by Mel B) will be worn by 23-year-old Kelly-Merrett-Osmond.

Kelly studied performing arts for six years and has appeared in over 15 theatre productions.

Joining Kelly on stage is vocalist Emma Tobitt.

The very talented five piece No1's Band will not only be providing the music for the lead vocalist but will be playing their own tribute to bands such as the Beatles and everyone's favourite Christmas band Slade.

The band members (pictured below) include brothers Andy and Colin Lewis on lead and rhythm guitar, ex rock n roll drummer Terry Knight, classically trained Katie Elliot on keys and last but not least all the ladies' favourite Dave [the bass] Williams.

This two hour ultimate Christmas show is guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit.

Sing, clap and dance along to all your favourite hits from Bing's White Christmas to The Pogues Fairy Tale of New York, Elvis's Blue Christmas plus Mariah Carey all the way to the Sounds of the Underground by Girls Aloud.

The performance starts at 7.30pm and tickets are priced at £14 & £13.

They are available from the box office on (01777) 706866.
