It's 'phoney rock 'n' roll' - but you'll like it

Thursday, November 06, 2008, 00:00

THE Counterfeit Stones are rolling out their latest theatre tour - and will be stopping off at Retford's Majestic Theatre on Saturday (8).

It is part of their 'It's Phoney Rock 'n'' Roll' tour which follows the success of their 'Itchy Fingers" tour last year.

As the name of the tour implies, the band lovingly (and laughingly!) cover the history of the Rolling Stones from 1963 through to the stadium gigs of the 1980s.

The show which blends stunningly accurate live renditions of the Stones' music with the replica (and sometimes unintentionally hilarious) costumes, the trademark dance moves, much onstage banter and, of course, the wigs!

There are also spoof film clips parodying events in the life of the "world's second greatest rock and roll band".

Tickets are priced at £15 and £13 and are available from the Majestic Box office on (01777) 706866.
