Fallen heroes

The faces you see below portray the human cost of the British Forces' campaign in Afghanistan since it began in October 2001.

Of those who have died on active service in Afghanistan, six have been from Nottinghamshire. Andrew Barrie Cutts died on 6 August, 2006; Steven Johnson died on 2 September, 2006; Paul Sandford died on 6 June, 2007; Damien Wright died on 5 September, 2007; Craig Brelsford died on 8 September, 2007 and Gary Thompson died on 13 April, 2008.
