Ambitious plans for United

Monday, August 18, 2008, 08:40

RETFORD United's new investor unveiled his ambitious plans to expand and improve the club at the weekend.

Retford businessman and race horse owner, Paul Dixon, mapped out his vision to Badgers fans, sponsors and players at the Cannon Park gathering last Friday night.

Mr Dixon reassured the meeting he has sorted out the club's 'disgraceful' financial situation and that he is making sure money owed to players from last season is paid.

Under ambitious new plans, which will make Retford United the biggest community club in north Notts according to Mr Dixon, the club will see:

an expansion of the club house and hospitality at the ground

potential Astroturf community pitch to the rear of the ground.

extra focus on junior and ladies' teams

more involvement of supporters and the community

and a more 'transparent' operation.
