Bassetlaw district election results

ALL of the results are in for the Bassetlaw district elections following this afternoon's count.

A total of 16 wards were being contested in this year's election, including all four Retford wards.

Among the notable defeats included Bassetlaw Council's chairman Helen Colton who lost her Carlton seat to Labour's Robin Wilde, and the Conservative's Ray Simpson lost Misterton to Independent Hazel Brand.

Meanwhile longstanding Conservative councillor Wendy Quigley retained her Retford East ward, while Labour stalwart Graham Oxby retained his Retford North ward.
