Thousands turn out to support the troops

THOUSANDS of patriotic residents, businesses, visitors and figureheads lined the streets as the Mercian Regiment marched through the Retford town centre.

The regiment, which is built up of around 250 troops from across the Midlands, Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Cheshire, exercised its right to the Freedom of Worksop and Retford by parading through the streets.
